Packaging Engineer
Range: $28 - $34 / hour
REPORTS TO THIS POSITION TITLE Senior Director of Brand Management
PURPOSE
The Packaging Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of products and packaging to ensure functionality, quality, and consistency. This role also drives cost-reduction initiatives and supports sustainability goals.
POSITION ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING KEY RESULTS
- Perform key job duties while upholding the Company’s Mission & Guiding Principles.
- Develop packaging and merchandising solutions for new and existing products, ensuring functionality, quality, cost-efficiency, and consistency.
- Create engineering drawings and product specifications, and test to validate performance, compatibility, and durability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Brand, R&D, and Purchasing to bring concepts to market.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through material reduction, alternate sourcing, or improved processes.
- Evaluate and select materials and structures that meet protection, regulatory, and sustainability requirements for product deliveries and displays.
- Research and integrate innovative packaging solutions and sustainable practices into product and packaging design.
- Lead Walmart Gigaton initiatives and reporting.
- Manage the Engineering Department budget.
- The Packaging Engineer may periodically visit domestic and international partners for technical meetings, new product brainstorming, and to support new product launches.
- All other duties as assigned in support of the future growth and success of iLoveToCreate.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Science (Engineering)
- 2 years engineering experience preferred

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach above/below shoulder level.
- Occasionally required to lift/carry/push up to 40 lbs, repetitively use both hands/arms/shoulders, forward bending/stooping and light grasping and fine dexterity of both hands. Ability to participate in a team lift for any lifting necessary over 40 lbs.
- Travel both domestically and internationally may be required in support of business objectives up to 10% of the working schedule.
